We also provide:
24/7 Emergency Service
Our 24/7 emergency services ensure that day or night, our team of experienced Sprinkler Fitters is ready to respond swiftly to any emergency. We have established a team our customers know and trust, which ensures you’ll be talking to a familiar voice in your time of need.
Fire Pump Testing
Fire pumps are integral to systems ensuring water can be delivered to all parts of a building. We have experience inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire pumps in accordance with NFPA 20 and 25. This includes sourcing and replacing various parts of fire pumps, completing weekly pump tests, and annual flow testing.
Foam System Testing
Foam systems are particularly valuable in situations involving flammable liquids and hazardous materials, as they create a thick blanket of foam that suppresses vapors and prevents the ignition of combustible materials. It’s integral when testing foam systems to be careful as the contents can be costly. Our technicians understand the amount of vigilance that needs to be taken when conducting testing on these systems. Additionally, through our trusted partners, we offer foam solution testing and replacement foam if necessary.
Backflow Preventer Inspection and Maintenance
Backflows are a vital part of a sprinkler system to ensure there is no cross-contamination between the sprinkler system and the domestic water supply. Our team completes the testing and maintenance of backflow preventers and as they become a legal requirement in more municipalities, our team sells, supplies, and installs entire backflow assemblies.
Pre-Action Systems
The importance of pre-action sprinkler systems lies in their ability to minimize the risk of unintentional water release, making them especially suitable for environments sensitive to water damage, such as data centers, museums, or archives. Our team is fully capable of testing all kinds of pre-action systems to ensure they are functioning properly without the accidental release of water.
Deluge Sprinkler Systems
A deluge fire protection system has unpressurized dry piping and open sprinkler heads. The system is directly connected to a water supply and when the system is activated, a deluge valve will release the water to all the open sprinkler heads. The valve is opened when activated by a heat or smoke detection system.
Antifreeze Sprinkler Systems
An antifreeze sprinkler system is a sprinkler system where the pipes are filled with antifreeze solution and upon activate of a sprinkler, once all antifreeze solution has been discharged, water will follow to suppress a fire. This type of system is typically found in cold spaces/ loading docks.
Dry Sprinkler Systems
Dry pipe sprinkler systems are filled with pressurized air typically, instead of water to prevent frozen and burst sprinkler pipes in areas with colder temperatures. The pressurized air in the sprinkler pipes prevents water from entering the pipes. This type of system is typically found in Parkades, Parking Garages or Attics / Overhangs.
Standpipe and Hose Systems
Standpipe systems are installed in buildings to help firefighters deploy attack hose lines quickly and with adequate water pressure and volume. They may be designed for heavy-stream applications, first-aid fire appliances, or have features of both.
Fire Hydrant Systems
Considered an active fire protection device, fire hydrants allow firefighters to access a local water supply quickly. A fire truck will usually haul enough water to allow firefighters to begin to fight a fire while hoses are being connected to the nearest fire hydrant. All fire hydrants on private property require annual service by certified companies such as Marrimac. We can also colour-code the hydrants to the associated flow. Hydrants shall be designed for a minimum working pressure of 1000 kPa. We have the equipment to flow test each and every hydrant provide a report to your insurance company to ensure you are fully covered.
Supply of Sprinkler Equipment
As a supply house, Marrimac has full access to specialty components, fire hoses, sprinkler heads, sprinkler valves, standpipe and hose stations, fire hydrant and associate parts, foam and foam products, sprinkler tools, and wrenches, sprinkler pipe (various materials), exotic material valves and fittings, proportioner valves, foam tanks, cabinets, etc.
